Kirsty Whiten lives in the countryside near Edinburgh in Scotland in a house she built with her partner in 2010. She has exhibited internationally and been involved with numerous projects in London, New York, Melbourne and closer to home, her work has been featured in magazines such as Juxtopoz and Hi-fructose, and art-blogs worldwide.
She makes warped large-scale paintings and highly detailed pencil drawings, often containing powerfully subversive content and irreverent humour.
Whiten’s work is about people; human behaviour, history, society, sexuality and culture. Her take on her subjects is witty, quirky and unsettling.
