Danny Figueroa aka Wesr was born in Chiclayo / Peru and grew up in Lima. In 1996 he started as one of the first graffiti writer with Peru’s classic characters. In 2006 he met his German wife in Peru. Since 2008, Danny Figueroa lives in his works recited Berlin. In Danny Figueroa, the aesthetics of Japanese manga culture and masterfully blended these with iconographic elements of folk Peruvian culture (eg. The Mochica Culture).

His works have an almost poetic excursion into the issues inherent in a world of globalization: What is a cultural heritage? How do we define our origin? How important are our “roots”. Does this development or adaptation of destruction and oblivion, and reorientation dynamics?

The fragile lines and textures Figueroa works with contrasting color accents and sparingly used to seduce the eye with its dynamic forms. Latin American zest for life meets a perceived sense of distance in Central Europe, a sense of community on the elevation of the ego.

Change in its myriad, often seemingly abstract Figueroa Variant ion lines, the indelible mark and experiences that affect our lives and draw, virtuosic complexity in landscapes. Danny Figueroa creates a fascinating and charming illustrational excursions into the world of our psyche and our being.
